Groupware migration as a service

audriga launches migration service for Microsoft Exchange

Karlsruhe, March 12th. At this year’s CeBIT trade fair, audriga GmbH presented its novel web-based self-service migration tool for Microsoft Exchange. After Microsoft has announced the termination of the Small Business Server later this year, the service is designed to help customers migrating their groupware data such as emails, contacts, calendars and tasks to a new provider. The solution does not require any software installation and can be configured with just a few clicks.

New customers of Hosted Exchange services often want to keep existing data when switching their provider. Since data migration is often a big challenge, audriga has designed a novel groupware migration service which enables end users to easily migrate data such as emails, contacts, calendars, tasks and notes. The whole process does not require any software installation and can be completed with just few clicks.

The software as a service application is now ready to use at www.groupware-migration.com. It supports the migration between Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010, and 2013 installations as well as standard email accounts (IMAP). The data is copied by the service and subsequently available at the old and the new provider.

By selecting one of the pre-configured providers or configuring an own server, users can migrate from and to on-premise servers as well as Hosted Exchange services. This allows users to ensure data portability, even when they frequently switch providers.

White labeling for partners
The audriga email migration service (www.migrate-mail.com) is already used by renowned hosting companies such as Host Europe or Hostpoint. Hosters and managed service providers which would like to extend their customer service by offering groupware migrations can use a white-labeled version or integrate via API. One of the initial launch partners is dogado Internet GmbH, one of the leading German Hosted Exchange providers. “Migration from legacy systems is relevant for roughly half of our customers”, says Timo Mankartz, Managing Director of dogado. “A reliable solution for seamless data migrations is a must-have for both our customers and us. With audriga, we found such a solution – no matter if a single or several hundred accounts have to be migrated.”

Cross-migration available upon request
The novel migration service for Microsoft Exchange follows the release of the Open-Xchange migration service at Open-Xchange Summit in November 2012. Besides these two self-service offerings, audriga also supports cross-migrations between different groupware solutions including Microsoft Exchange, Open-Xchange, Google Apps and others. These features will also be incrementally added to the self-service application.
