Email migration service distinguished once again

audriga voted among the top three European cloud startups at EuroCloud Congress

Karlsruhe/Luxembourg, October, 9th, 2012. German startup company audriga has been ranked among the top three European cloud startups yesterday at the EuroCloud Congress award ceremony in Luxembourg. audriga was able to convince the twelve-member international jury of cloud experts with its email and groupware migration service www.migrate-mail.com. The company was rated among the top three in the category “Best Cloud Startup”. 50 companies had been participating in the overall competition.

During the last two days, the leaders of the European cloud industry have been gathering in Luxembourg for the annual EuroCloud Congress. Among the participants was also Viviane Reding, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship. Besides many interesting talks and workshops, the winners of the EuroCloud Europe Awards were announced in five categories.

The German company audriga was awarded as one of the top three cloud startups in Europe out of nominees from the twelve membership countries in the category “Best Cloud Startup”. The vote had been cast by a twelve-member independent jury of cloud experts, each from a different European country. The email and groupware migration service www.migrate-mail.com was honored for its easy and comfortable usage. In her morning address, EC vice president Reding had been stressing that data lock-in reduces user’s confidence to trust cloud services. Users should thus be able to move their cloud data from one provider to another more easily. This is also one of the core issue addressed by the audriga migration services, which aim to support data portability between different cloud providers, a fact that had also been stressed in the vote of the jury.

“We are happy about this prestigious award and about being selected as one of the best cloud services in Europe” said Frank Dengler, one of the founders and managing directors of audriga after the award ceremony. On its website www.migrate-mail.com audriga allows companies to move their data between different cloud providers. No software needs to be installed. Users can continuously monitor the progress of the migration on a status page. The cloud service can also be used by hosters and IT service providers to increase the satisfaction of their customers by helping them to switch providers in a faster and easier way.

This May, audriga has already been awarded the EuroCloud Germany Award in the category “Best Cloud Startup”, which was also a precondition for the participation in the European contest.
